Roundtrip of Bulgaria
Sofia-Rila monastery-Bansko- Plovdiv-Bourgas-Nessebar- Albena-Arbanassi- Gabrovo-Kazanlak-Sofia
1 st day: Arrival at Sofia airport. Dinner and overnight in Sofia.
2-nd day: Sofia – Rila monastery – Bansko
Departure to the Rila monastery – the most outstanding monument of the Bulgarian culture and architecture of the Revival period. Visit to the monastery complex. Lunch. Drive to Bansko – the entrance to the most beautiful Bulgarian mountain – Pirin – and one of the biggest winter resorts in the country. Dinner and overnight in Bansko.
3-rd day: Bansko – Plovdiv
Departure to Plovdiv – the second Bulgarian city in population, size and signifficance, after the capital Sofia. Lunch. Sightseeing tour of “The Old town of Plovdiv” which attracts visitors from all over the world, visit to the most interesting places – the Ancient Amphiteatre, built up by Emperor Mark Avreli during the I century, the best preserved amphitheatre in Bulgaria, the church St. St. Konstantin and Helena and others. Dinner and overnight in Plovdiv.
4 th day : Plovdiv – Bachkovo Kloster – Bourgas
Drive to Bourgas. On the way visit to the Bachkovo monastery – the second largest monastery in Bulgaria and one of the oldest monasteries on the Balkan Peninsula. Lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight in Bourgas.
5 th day : Bourgas – Nessebar – Albena
Departure to Nessebar one of the oldest European towns, situated on a small peninsula. Walk through the Old Town – declared an architectural – historical and archaelogical reserve and has been entered in the List of World Culture and Nature Heritage of UNESCO. Lunch. Drive to Varna – the third largest city in Bulgaria , called the sea capital of Bulgaria and the “Queen” of the Black Sea. Visit to the Roman baths – the largest in Bulgaria. Dinner and overnight in Albena.
6 th day : Albena – Arbanassi – Gabrovo
On the way visit to the rock relief “Madara Horseman” , the most important monument of the early Middle Ages, entered in the List of World Culture and Nature Heritage of UNESCO. Drive to Arbanassi – one of the most frequented tourist sites in Bulgaria, declared an architectural – historical reserve. Visit to the the church ‘Rozhdestvo Hristovo” and the Konstanzaliev house. Lunch. Departure to Veliko Tarnovo – visit to the historical hill Tzarevez and walk the Samovodska charschia . Dinner and overnight in Gabrovo.
7 th day : Gabrovo – Kazanlak – Sofia
Walk through “Etara” – an unique architectural – ethnographic complex in the open. The drive continues through the Balkan mountain, visit to the Shipka church. Departure to Kazanlak, located in the centre of the Valley of the Roses. Visit to the Ethnographical museum where the tools are exhibited and the process of manufacturing rose oil is explained and also rose liquor and jam are tasted. Lunch. Departure to Sofia. Dinner and overnight.
8 th day : Sofia – Airport
Transfer to the airport.
